Copenhagen apartment: Warmth & glamour

Love this home office!

The Copenhagen home of Marianne Brandi and Keld Mikkelsen was in the January issue of Living Etc. I love the mixtures of rich textiles, bold stripes a few bright colors and touches of gleaming silver. They are designer and creative director of Day Birger Mikkelsen, the Danish fashion and home company, so many of the cushions and accessories are part of their line. I also think it's incredible that this apartment is part of a purpose-built block! I don't know where you live, but in London, purpose-built housing certainly doesn't normally feature period crown molding, huge windows and high ceilings!
I have always liked Day Birger home accessories that I see featured in magazines, however I can never find where to buy them! It's frustrating that UK magazines feature this brand but they never mention where to shop for the items. Have any of you seen Day Birger Home items ouside of Denmark?

The home of a collector: Leif Sigerson's New York home

An interesting interior- Danish interior architect & set designer Leif Sigerson's home in New York. Full of vintage finds from all over the place, rustic collected objects, assemblages that mean something to him. I think it's clear he's a set designer- snippets of his rooms could be stage/ film sets for a story. (photos by Ditte Isager/ Elle Decoration Nov 2009)

More Scandinavian style: colorful rooms

Danish photographer Bjarni B Jacobsen is the photographer of these photos of this bright home. White punctuated with cheerful brights is so light and happy. It seems to be a recurring theme that I like the "clean" look but my eyes crave color.

Cool Danish home collection: Day Birger et Mikkelsen

Vignettes from Danish fashion house Day Birger et Mikkelsen's Home collection. They do such pretty bead work on their fashion designs and I love looking at their site for inspiration. The home items have a bit more of a relaxed look, but touches of formal through the sterling silver- the way patterns and natural elements are combined is interesting. The lampshade is favorite, and so is the glass-enclosed butterfly collection.
